Project Background

Problem: This is a concept project born from the idea that those who are developing corporate trainings sometimes lack the skills and knowledge needed to implement effective, research-backed instructional strategies.

Solution: This short, micro-learning experience was built to teach, review, and assess learner knowledge of Gagne's Nine Events of Instruction. It is a personalized module that addresses each learner by name and adjusts to the learner's comfort level with the topic based on a self-assessment question at the beginning. Learners who already know Gagne's Nine Events can jump right to the quiz questions, while those that need more review or are unfamiliar with the topic can spend time exploring a tabbed interaction to learn and review Gagne's Nine Events.

In the designing of this project, I first created a storyboard to map out the overall flow and script. Then I designed the graphics using Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft PowerPoint. Finally, I developed the full project using Articulate Storyline 360. Building this project helped me to learn and master the more advanced features of Storyline, including the use of variables and conditions. I was able to create custom slide and feedback masters and build custom drag and drop quiz slides effectively as well. I look forward to building more projects like this one as I continue to refine and build my Storyline skillset.
